Intimidated when choosing French wine? Become a professional wineaux so you can increase your enjoyment of French wine for the rest of your life.
This two-part class (Oct. 18 and Oct. 25) is a bilingual journey through the nuances and history of French wine as well as a wine tasting. Tickets are limited and one ticket gets you admission to BOTH classes, which will each offer unique wines and wine knowledge.

La Louisiane: Table Française and Live Music at Beanlandia
BONJOUR! We’re all thrilled for the return of La Louisiane, a monthly evening of French conversation and the music of French and Creole Louisiana. This fall’s series is a collaboration between L'Union Française and of course the Krewe of Red Beans. Beanlandia (3300 Royal Street in the Bywater), the year-round cultural hub of the Krewe of Red Beans, will be playing host for each event, starting on October 6th. L’Union Française will lead a one-hour French language meetup (aka a ‘Table Française’) at 6pm followed by the music of the great Louis Michot from 7pm till 9pm. Come celebrate a big reason our neck of the woods is exciting and different. Tickets available at the door and visit https://www.lalouisiane.org/ to learn more and become an ongoing supporter of this cause. Bastille Day Wreath Laying Ceremony
Join the Council of French Societies of New Orleans and Consul Général de France Rodolph Sambou for the annual Bastille Day wreath laying ceremony at the Joan of Arc Statue on Decatur Street. La Marseillaise will be sung by Givonna Joseph and refreshments will follow. Free and open to the public.
Bayou St. John Bastille Day Block Party

French for Travel
Going to the Olympics in Paris this summer?
Why not take a class to get ready for your seat at the café table on the Left Bank of Paris? This class will teach both absolute beginners and those with some experience in the language a French that allows one to board a train, ask for directions, order a meal, and buy antiques at a flea market.

Quebec Cinema
This class offered over 6 sessions will introduce you to some jewels of contemporary Quebec cinema and their directors. They will give you the tools to better understand this specific culture, its territory and its attachment to its language. Through images and sound you will be immersed in a multifaceted linguistic world, allowing you to strengthen your oral comprehension, and to express yourself in a small group in a convivial way.
Pays Basque - Vive la France
First session of our Vive la France culture class series which continues every Tuesday in April.
This season’s Vive La France explores the rich cultural, linguistic, artistic, and culinary history of the Basque region of France and Spain.

Members will have a tour of the art exhibition “Haiti-Louisiana: Tides of Freedom,” which commemorates Haiti’s 220th anniversary of independence and celebrates the deep-rooted connection between Haiti and Louisiana.

Cafe & Croissants
The French Film festival returns to New Orleans, and L'Union Française is proud to continue its sponsorship with the film Driving Madeleine (Une Belle Course). Prior to the screening, L'Union will have gourmet café from Petite Rouge, croissants from Celtica, and live music by T. Marie and Bayou Juju on Prytania St. for the community. We hope to see you there!

From Toxandria to Louisiana via Belcastel France: a 2000-year history of the Saunhacs
Luc DeVaux will examine the history of the Saunhac family (Soniat, Dufossat) from its roots in France and Château Belcastel to New Orleans. This event will take place at 4522 Prytania Street, is open to the public, and is free.
