Comments Off on 21st Annual FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL

New Orleans French Film Festival, presented by the New Orleans Film Society is offering a great program of films, lectures and live music in partnership with the historic Prytania Theatre, February 23–March 1, 2018.

L’Union Française decided in 2017 to become a sponsor of the French Film Festival, held each year at the Prytania Theatre by the New Orleans Film Society. We are very proud to renew our sponsorship this year. Our logo is displayed on their main French Film Festival page–click here to view it– as well as on the screen between films the entire week. In addition, we are sponsoring an individual film, Ismael’s Ghosts, and a board member speaks for a few minutes about L’Union Française for each of the two times that the film shows. We have five sets of complimentary tickets that we will be giving to our students. Ballots to choose the films were given out to the students in our classes and will be used in a drawing in early February to see who wins the tickets.

As the festival draws near, we are looking forward to the excitement and buzz around this year’s films, and to sharing this year’s program with  growing audiences. Passes are on sale now, members are booking their films, and individual film tickets are on sale to the general public.

An energetic festival trailer has just been released–– click here to view it–– Note, our logo appears at the end!!!

A few highlights from this year’s program are an Agnés Varda retrospective, musical performances by Helen Gillet and others, and the world premiere of the uniquely New Orleans story, Le Grande Remix, which screens in the shorts program. Click here to view the film line-up.
